Call of Duty: Black Ops

Call of Duty Getting Microtransactions

March 12, 2013 / by / 0 Comment

As if Activision wasn’t making enough money from Call of Duty, they are now adding microtransactions in Black Ops 2. The latest update (available starting Wednesday) for Black Ops 2 enables micro items, that are completely optional. You’ll be able to purchase “Personalization Packs” which gives you special weapon camo, three targeting reticles, a custom player calling card, and extra create a class slots. All of this will set you back 160 MS Points, for each personalization pack. You’ll also be able to download the popular multiplayer map Nuketown 2025 for free. As well as download Nuketown Zombies for 400 MS Points.

Activision’s official spokesperson Dan Amrich has said, “at the end of the day, all of these items are completely optional, and were created for players who’ve asked for more customization options. If that’s not you, that’s fine; everybody gets Nuketown 2025 for free, so definitely take advantage of that.” Seems fair enough, you decide with your wallet.
